Di Carrington Atlantic Rower
Monday June 8th @ 2.30pm

In February 2018 Di Carrington, aged 61/62 rowed into the record books.

Listen to Di’s Amazing Story.

At sixty, Di was feeling lost in her life. A good friend suggested that they do something crazy, which sowed the seed of entering the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge 2017; the toughest row in the world, rowing 3,000 miles unsupported across the Atlantic Ocean.

Di couldn’t row!

In December 2017, she skippered a team of three ladies on Poppy. In February 2018, they completed the challenge breaking and setting four Guinness Book world records. They are the first trio of ladies, the fastest trio of ladies and the oldest ladies to row the Atlantic and Di became the oldest lady in the world to row any ocean.

She has written a book about this challenge, fulfilling another dream. She has done talks to a range of groups inspiring them as age is only a number. Together with helping in the production of a play called ‘Atlantic Ladies’.

Her next challenge is climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in September 2019.
